Call for Papers

For Conference details click http://www.pcaaca.org/conference/national.php

Deadline for proposal submissions is December 15.

Any disciplinary perspective may be used to examine dissent, past or present, in a local, regional, national or international setting.  Using a broad interpretation of dissent, papers may focus on works by specific writers or artists, the history of a specific protest, action or movement, as well as the rhetoric, politics, impact and sociology of specific protest movements.  Past topics have included studies of consumer boycotts, union organizing in the 1930s, specific protests by antiwar, environmental, African-American, Native-American, Latin American, animal rights, women’s and gay rights groups, as well as examinations of how marches, slogans, symbols, poetry, music, dance, theater and art play a role in protest.

Email questions or 250 word abstracts to Lotte Larsen,  the chair of Protest Issues and Actions at LarsenL@wou.edu.  Abstracts should include title of paper and your contact information (University affiliation and address).
